8.3c Titration curve using a pH meter
Recall that acid + base --> salt + water.
There are 2 ways to determine the unknown concentration of the acid (or base):
- Use indicator: when the color change, that is assumed to be the equivalent point
- Use a pH probe: this will allow for a titration curve (below). The equivalent point is where there is a sharp increase in pH.
This is a more accurate way because you are not relied on the point of color change of the indicator.
