C.1b Where does Energy come from?

Energy can be categorized based on where it comes from

Primary Energy Source- is a source of energy that has not been converted by the consumer

Secondary Energy source-is a source of energy  that results from the transformation of a primary source

Primary energy sources are divided into two types

Renewable Energy Source- A source of energy that can be replenished in a relatively short time period

Non-renewable Energy Source- A source of energy that can only be replenished over very long geological times
